George Filgate has been involved in photography on both sides of the country. Operating out of a home studio in Philadelphia, PA, George photographed weddings and portraits, products and album covers. He taught basic photography through the Philadelphia University City Arts League and was a teacher for the Philadelphia Public Schools Outreach program for high school students.
After moving to Eugene, Oregon, he managed the now-defunct Photographers' Workshop, a community darkroom and studio. In that capacity, he taught classes and workshops, juried shows and took care of day-to-day business activities.
Today, George continues to photograph weddings, portraits, magazine assignments, artist portfolios and events. He also works with performing artists creating portfolios from live performances and studio shoots. Schooled in 35mm and medium format film he now shoots exclusively with digital equipment.
